Management
InCompass, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Jockey Club, was created as part of The Jockey Clubís corporate restructuring in November 2001, when the leading racetrack software solutions provider, McKinnie Systems Inc., was re-named and re-focused as InCompass.

Advances in data and communications technology created opportunities to standardize the software applications and systems designed to serve tracks and to deploy programs that would help tracks optimize the use of new technologies as they adapted their operations to changing business practices.

InCompass was formed to turn these opportunities into reality through a complete re-engineering of the portfolio of solutions around a centralized database architecture, thereby maximizing economic and operational efficiencies for tracks.

The InCompass staff worked closely with personnel from The Jockey Club Registry, Equibase Company and The Jockey Club Technology Services on programming and software development. They also sought input from racetrack personnel throughout the country and tested the new systems at several racetracks before making them available to the commercial market.

The first phase of the re-engineering process was completed in the fourth quarter of 2002, enabling the rollout in 2003 of state-of-the-art browser-based racing office and horsemen’s bookkeeper applications that interface directly with the official pedigree and racing databases of The Jockey Club and Equibase Company, respectively. These applications are collectively known as the Race Track Operations (RTO) system.

RTO also includes InCompass Financial Services (IFS), which enables horsemen in eligible states to access their horsemenís bookkeeper accounts online via the IFS Account Access module.

Another state-of-the-art product offering is Simo-Central, which provides accurate and timely racing program data from all available tracks. New programming products facilitate the creation of a simulcast program and even eliminate the need for desktop publishing.

In 2011, the first facet of RTO was rolled out on a mobile platform with the launch of InCompass mobile, featuring a Mobile Rundown app for racing secretaries and other designated racetrack officials.

In 2018, RTO was relaunched as Track Manager to provide an improved user experience on mobile and desktop devices, expansion with use of major internet browsers, and a complete technology upgrade for enhanced reliability and security. The platform is built on a private virtual cloud environment and is supported by a disaster recovery plan and recovery system utilizing a geographically diverse solution to ensure the critical services continue to operate in the event of catastrophic damage to the data center.
